Uganda is home to half of the world's mountain Gorillas and a visit to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest will give you a close up these wise and gentle giants. Bwindi is a thick tropical African jungle along the East African Rift Valley with over 400 plant species, at least 200 butterfly species, 120 mammals including baboons, chimpanzees, and elephants, and 250 bird species, 23 of which are Albertine Rift endemics. A visit to track mountain gorillas in Uganda is a leading Tour experience that will leave you fulfilled.
Itinerary
Day 1 - Checking into your hotel or flying to Bwindi.
Transfer from Entebbe Airport to your hotel. Optional, fly to Kisoro enjoying an aerial view of the forests. Rest and relax after your journey. Optional: You can choose to explore Entebbe Town or the Zoo for a glimpse of Uganda's wildlife.
Day 2 - Travel to Bwindi
Have breakfast at your hotel and begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Enjoy a stopover at an Equator crossing and lunch at a local restaurant. Arrive at Bwindi in the evening and check-in at your lodge and settle in.
Day 3 - Gorilla Tracking
Early breakfast at the lodge. Transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking experience and safety guidelines. Begin your unforgettable gorilla trekking experience through the dense forest of Bwindi with experienced guides and trackers. Spend 4-5 Hours observing and photographing a habituated gorilla family in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon: Go on a nature trip for birdwatching, or for a cultural experience and learn about their traditional way of the Batwa people. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 4 - Departure
Fly back to Entebbe or take the road trip back. You may shop for crafts in Kampala or Entebbe.
